Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Kimberly Davis was introduced to music by her mother, who was a singer, and by her father, who played the saxophone. In her own words: “I’ve been singing since I could talk. Growing up in a musical household, you can’t help but love and appreciate all types of music.”
Kimberly was involved in anything and everything musical from elementary school through junior high. She attended the prestigious LaGuardia High School of Music and Art, which inspired the movie, ”Fame”.
While working an office “day job,” Kimberly avidly pursued her passion for singing. At the urging of friends who admired her talent, she not only entered a competition sponsored by KISS FM radio – she won! That acclaim eventually led to concert tours with Nile Rodgers and Chic, with performances-by-invitation all around the world. In South America, Europe, Asia – audiences on every continent are responding to Kimberly’s exceptional vocal prowess, and to the heart and soul she always infuses into her singing.
She is grateful for all she has. “To wake up every day, knowing that my voice and music have made it possible to care for myself and my family … that’s the greatest accomplishment imaginable for me. It’s amazing to do what I’m doing, still expressing the love of singing that I’ve felt since early childhood.”
Kimberly, today, is a D1 Music label artist. Her first single, “Get Up” reached #12 on the Billboard Dance Club Chart … an unusual accomplishment for a first-timer. Her “Twist of Love” built on that success. It was played on over 200 radio stations and debuted at #41 on Billboard’s Hot Club Play Chart. After just a few weeks, it rocketed up to #9 with a bullet, where it remained for four weeks.
Soon she will debut a Soulful House song, “With You”, written exclusively for her. Later, an R&B song, “60 Seconds”, also created for Kimberly and portraying the true-life romance that changed her life. Of course, she always offer choices for the many fans who enjoy her on the dance floor. Stay tuned!
